Indonesian Air Force Military Police Detain Serka S Involved In Sending Illegal Indonesian Migrant Workers To Malaysia
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Air Force has detained one individual soldier, Sergeant Chief (Serka) S, who is suspected of helping to dispatch illegal Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI) to Malaysia.
The detention was carried out by the Indonesian Air Force Military Police (Pomau) following an investigation conducted by the Indonesian Air Force on information from the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) last week.
From the depth of the investigation carried out, said Head of the Indonesian Air Force Information Service (Kadispenau) Marsma TNI Indan Gilang Buldansyah said Pomau had detained a soldier with the rank of Sgt.
"Pomau investigators have named a soldier Sergeant Chief S as a suspect. For the purposes of the investigation, now the person concerned is officially detained, and officers are still being questioned by officers," said Indan, quoted by Antara, Friday, December 31.
According to him, the involvement of Sergeant Chief S was limited to providing land transportation services. Information will continue to be developed and explored so that the problem becomes clearer.
"The determination as a suspect, detention and investigation of individual soldiers, Sergeant Chief S, is a form of commitment and seriousness of the Indonesian Air Force in enforcing the law against soldiers who are not disciplined and do not obey the law," he said.
The alleged articles are Article 81 in conjunction with Article 83 of Law Number 18 of 2017 concerning the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers, Article 2 and Article 4 of Law No. 21/2007 concerning the Eradication of the Crime of Trafficking in Persons, and Article 55 of the Criminal Code and Article 103 of the Criminal Code.
