Heavy Rain In Semarang, Puddles Appear In Several Points
SEMARANG - Heavy rains that flushed the city of Semarang from Friday afternoon until evening caused inundation at a number of points in the capital city of Central Java.
Semarang City BPBD Secretary Winarsono said the height of the puddles due to heavy rains varied from 20 to 50 cm.
Several points appeared puddles of water such as Jalan Gajah Raya, Jalan Kaligawe, Jalan Muktiharjo, the Tlogosari area, Krobokan, and the West Semarang area.
"The puddles gradually receded after the rain stopped," he said, quoted by Antara, Friday, December 31.
Meanwhile, a resident of Jalan Gajah Raya, Adi (35) said that the puddles were as high as an adult's calf and it had been difficult to appear since the evening.
"Usually it's low tide tonight," he said.
According to him, many motorcyclists broke down because they were desperate to hit the puddles.
In addition, he said, many motorists choose alternative roads through villages to avoid puddles.*
