Cooperation With Jak Lingko, KPK: Preventing Corruption Is Everyone's Business
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and PT Jakarta Lingko Indonesia (JakLingko) signed a cooperation agreement on strengthening efforts to eradicate corruption.
In his remarks, Acting Deputy for Education and Community Participation of the KPK Wawan Wardiana said efforts to eradicate corruption were carried out through three main approaches, namely education, prevention, and prosecution. However, this effort must be followed by the participation of other parties, including the community.
"The work of taking action is by the KPK but to prevent not only the affairs of the KPK but everyone. All parties have the same opportunity to jointly eliminate corruption in Indonesia," Wawan said as quoted from his written statement, Friday, December 31.
For this reason, the KPK and JakLingko then worked together. The scope of the cooperation between the two institutions is related to corruption prevention, anti-corruption socialization and campaign, anti-corruption education and training, complaint handling system, data and/or information exchange, and other scopes according to the agreement.
In an effort to prevent corruption, the cooperation includes the implementation and improvement of compliance with the State Administrators Wealth Report (LHKPN) and the development of a gratification control program as well as improvements in the area of public services.
In addition, within the scope of socialization and campaigning, both parties agreed to carry out a joint anti-corruption campaign, among others in the form of posting anti-corruption campaign materials in the form of a Public Service Announcement (PSA) and on cards issued by Jaklingko.
While related to education and training, the KPK will provide technical training to improve capabilities related to anti-corruption and public complaints as well as anti-bribery management for Jaklingko employees.
Not only that, the anti-corruption commission and Jaklingko also agreed to encourage the implementation of a complaint handling system related to alleged corruption that is integrated with the KPK's Whistleblowing System (WBS).
Next, both of them agreed to exchange data and/or information which includes, among other things, data managed by Jaklingko related to cardholder identity, transactions, and passenger crossing data.
Responding to Wawan, the President Director of Jaklingko Muhamad Kamaluddin welcomed the cooperation between his institution and the KPK. According to him, prevention is a top priority.
He also conveyed his commitment to cooperate in the long term considering the assignment given to Jaklingko in integrating transportation payment transactions in Greater Jakarta which will be centered in Jaklingko.
"We see this collaboration as very important, (as) an element of preventing corruption in our process," said Kamaluddin.
He also expressed his gratitude to the KPK for the realization of this collaboration.
"Our commitment is to support the KPK's anti-corruption programs and also to cooperate with the KPK in the long term," he concluded.
