DKI Deputy Governor Requests That Access Per RW In Jakarta Is Restricted

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, instructed that social institutions such as neighborhood associations (RW) limit access to their territory during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Riza said that this access restriction was intended to reduce the intensity of people crossing the RW area, so as to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

"It needs to be ensured that access to the RW area becomes one, two, or three entrances. It must be limited, not all accesses can be opened. This is in order to ascertain who enters and the conditions concerned," said Riza in the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Youtube broadcast seen at Monday, August 24.

In addition, Riza also requested that each RW in Jakarta put up banners or announcements containing an appeal to increase public awareness in breaking the chain of the spread of COVID-19.

Riza also requested that RWs and RTs ensure that each house is appointed as a cadre for handling COVID-19. These cadres are coordinating with regional officials regarding education to handling symptoms of COVID-19 infection.

"Each house has one cadre appointed. We must ensure that every house is safe, controlled, and implements the COVID-19 protocol," he explained.

Then, the youth organizations of each RW were asked to carry out 3M patrols in their community, namely wearing masks, washing hands with soap, and maintaining distance.

"Because there is no vaccine yet, so our best medicine is 3M. This can be done by youth organizations at the RW and RT levels, as well as all community elements of society, to continue patrolling," he said.
