Circulation Of 25 Kilograms Of Methamphetamine Thwarted By The Central Jakarta Metro Police

JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta Police Narcotics Investigation Unit arrested three narcotics dealers of methamphetamine. Central Jakarta Metro Police Deputy Chief, Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police (AKBP) Setyo Koes Heriyanto said the suspects, namely SPA (42), DD (41), and ABR (36) planned to distribute methamphetamine at the end of 2021.

"From their statement, these drugs want to be circulated during the new year," Setyo told reporters, Friday, December 31.

The suspects with the initials SPA and DD were arrested in Jati Asih, Bekasi. Then the suspect ABR was arrested in the same area. In total, evidence weighing 25.5 kilograms of methamphetamine was secured from the three drivers.

"These drugs are packaged in 44 packages. Each packet of drugs is 1 ounce," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Drugs at the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Indrawienny Panjiyoga said that his party was still investigating where the methamphetamine came from. This drug is considered quite unique because it is usually packaged with a logo indicating which country the goods are from.

"This drug is only wrapped in silver aluminum plastic, we don't know from which country it was produced. We are still investigating further," he said.

The perpetrators were charged with Article 114 (2) sub Article 112 (2) Juncto Article 132 (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. The perpetrators face a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
