BMKG Predicts New Year's Eve In North Sumatra Moderately Heavy Rain Accompanied By Lightning
SUMUT - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said that some areas in North Sumatra Province (North Sumatra) have the potential to rain on Friday, December 31 or on New Year's Eve.
"Friday afternoon and evening it is cloudy and there is the potential for moderate to heavy rain in most areas in North Sumatra," said BBMKG Region I Medan forecaster Utami Al Khairiyah in Medan as quoted by Antara.
In general, the weather was cloudy during the day and light rain in Langkat, Medan, Deli Serdang, Samosir Coal, Humbahas, Taput, Sidempuan Island, Madina, Samosir and Tapteng, Nias Islands and its surroundings.
The air temperature is 16.0-32.0 degrees Celsius, humidity is 60-95 percent, the wind blows from the West-Northeast at a speed of 10-30 km/hour.
For this condition, BMKG issued an early warning to be alert for moderate to heavy rain accompanied by lightning storms in the West Slope, West Coast, Mountains and East Slope of North Sumatra which could cause flooding and landslides.
