Cases Of Sexual Violence Rise, PAN Wants Government To Take Serious And Systematic Efforts
JAKARTA - The National Mandate Party (PAN) has given important notes to the government as a reflection of the end of 2021. One of them is the rise of acts of violence and sexual harassment.
The chairman of the PAN faction of the DPR RI, Saleh Partaonan Daulay, emphasized that the emergency status of sexual violence must be taken seriously and anticipated by the government to protect all Indonesian people.
Saleh supports the government to make serious and systematic efforts in preventing and handling sexual violence.
"PAN supports the government in making serious and systematic efforts in terms of preventing, handling and enforcing the law on cases of sexual violence," Saleh said in his statement, Friday, December 31.
In addition to these important notes, the chairman of the PAN DPP also conveyed the government's achievements in 2021 which were already good. According to him, this achievement must continue to be better in 2022.
"In a situation like this, PAN invites us to strengthen each other to come together and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic," said Saleh.
Meanwhile, in terms of handling COVID-19, Members of Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives suggested that health protocols, prevention and handling procedures at airports and international ports should be improved.
PAN, said Saleh, suggested a quarantine period for Indonesian citizens who came from overseas trips. If it is declared negative through a PCR test, it will only take 3-5 days and then continue quarantine at home.
"In addition, do not let the policies applied seem to change, reflecting the lack of adequate studies related to the policies made," said Saleh.
