Sunter Lake Closed, Sterile From Crowds On New Year's Eve
JAKARTA - The North Jakarta City Government installed a boundary line to close the Sunter Lake area in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta ahead of the turn of the year 2022 on Thursday night.
A number of officers from the North Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) installed a barrier line in the form of raffia rope around the Sunter Lake area.
North Jakarta Mayor Ali Maulana Hakim was also present to monitor the process of installing the rope line in the green open space area, which is often visited by residents during the holiday.
"Tonight, all the signs have started to be installed, at Lake Sunter, the line is like that, starting tomorrow morning it will be clear," said Ali, Thursday, December 30, evening.
However, because it was not guarded, at 22:24 WIB, it seemed that an unknown resident had opened the barrier again when the Satpol PP officers left.
At that time, officers were known to have spread to a number of points, such as in the Lodan Raya area to the gates of Ancol Dreamland Park, which also appeared to be closed at night using a road barrier.
The mayor of North Jakarta also met with the owner of one of the restaurants in Kelapa Gading to close services after 22.00 WIB, and appealed to visitors to comply with the curfew and not to celebrate the turn of the year.
After that, he said the tourist area on Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) was also closed before New Year's Eve.
Not only in tourist spots, hotels and restaurants, but also in densely populated settlements, it is also advised to stay at home.
"It doesn't mean we forbid our activities, we only ask to obey health protocols. So if there will be celebrations in residential areas as well, it will be advised if possible with their respective families at home," said Ali.
