This Is The Reason Why Bali United And PSM Makassar Were Chosen By PSSI To Represent Indonesia In The 2022 AFC Cup
JAKARTA - Bali United and PSM Makassar have been officially appointed by PSSI to represent Indonesia in the Asian club tournament next season, the 2022 AFC Cup.
Bali United, through its official website quoted by Antara, Thursday, conveyed this information based on a letter received by the management of Serdadu Tridatu on 27 December.
In the letter, Bali United mentioned several considerations for being re-elected to represent Indonesia, including considering the results of the Club Licensing Cycle 2021.
PSSI has also written to the AFC as the Asian football organization which states that Bali United will again become one of the representatives of the club from Indonesia that will compete in Southeast Asia.
Bali United was chosen based on the status of the domestic champion of the 2019 League 1 which has not been replaced, and the Tridatu Army squad will be accompanied by the Makassar PSM team as the Indonesian Cup champions.
The two teams representing Indonesia have also been accepted by the AFC.
Bali United is also determined to make a better achievement in the upcoming 2022 AFC Cup.
In the 2022 AFC Cup, Bali United appears for the third time in a competition that brings together Asian countries because the 2021 season has been officially canceled.
Ilija Spasojevic first appeared in the AFC Cup in the 2018 season, then in the 2020 season he returned to play several matches in Southeast Asia but had to be postponed.
In the 2021 season, the news of the continuation of the AFC Cup will be carried out, but then it has to be officially canceled due to the ongoing pandemic situation.
Likewise, PSM Makassar informed their participation in the 2022 AFC Cup through the club's official Instagram account.
The Ramang troops will also represent Indonesia in the AFC Cup next season because of their status as the 2018/2019 Indonesian Cup champions and qualify for the 2021 AFC license.
"Back competing in the 2022 AFC Cup," wrote PSM on its official Instagram account, @psm_makassar.
