Gibran Ensures Solo Is Ready To Host The G20 Working Group, Hotels Have Been Arranged And Prepared MSME Products

SOLO - The city of Solo is ready to host the Working Group event for Trade Investment and Industry at the G20 Presidency which will be held next year.

Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka said that he had made preparations including the readiness of the hotel to be used as the venue for the event. "All cities can, Jogja can, Jakarta can. This is very good for the economic recovery of Solo City," Gibran said in Solo, Antara, Thursday, December 30.

In this activity, his party will also involve micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that produce souvenirs and other local products that have been curated.

Previously, during his visit to Solo, the Director General of Resilience, Territorial and International Industrial Access of the Indonesian Ministry of Industry, Eko Cahyanto, said that before the peak of the meeting in 2022, there will be many meetings on the scale of working groups and engagement groups.

"The first meeting of this working group will be held in Solo City on March 29-30, 2022. Earlier, the Mayor was to discuss the implementation plan and ask for directions related to what will be displayed in Solo," he said.

He said that in accordance with President Joko Widodo's direction, organizing the event was part of efforts to recover the economy. Therefore, later there will be a number of products from MSMEs that will be displayed.

"Both as souvenirs and performances. We also want delegates from 39 entities, namely 20 G20 member countries plus six invited countries and 10 international organizations to know very well what Solo is like and what can be seen in Solo," he said.

Meanwhile, he said, so far several industries in Solo and its surroundings have adapted to global sustainability standards. In fact, he said, a number of companies have also adopted global sustainability standards.

"The G20 countries know that Indonesia has transformed, Indonesia is ready. We hope that it will not continue to be left behind and become part of the global plan so that we go carbon neutral in 2060 for Indonesia," he said.
