Document Counterfeiting Using Original Materials Revealed By Police, Bandarlampung City Government Urges Residents To Use Service Counters

BANDARLAMPUNG - The Bandarlampung City Government (Pemkot) appealed to residents to come directly to the service counters provided for making population documents.

"We have asked the public that in making population documents, especially ID cards, they are directly present at the existing service counters or through the Permenmanis online system," said Secretary of the City of Bandarlampung Disdukcapil Siti Supiah, in Bandarlampung, Antara, Thursday, December 30.

Siti's appeal follows the disclosure of a case of falsification of documents carried out by the Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the Bandarlampung Police on Wednesday, December 15, at Jalan Raden Pemuka, Gunungsulah Village, Wayhalim District.

According to Siti, with the community directly coming to service counters or registering in the Permenmanis system, the issuance of population documents, especially ID cards, can be in accordance with applicable regulations.

"We have asked the officers to provide the best service to the community. In fact, we also always supervise employees to adjust their duties and functions and comply with what has been determined," he said.

Regarding the disclosure of cases of document falsification carried out by irresponsible people who have been examined by the police that the materials used are all genuine, he said he did not know.

"I don't know and I just read the news today. But we always limit all existing ID cards according to applicable regulations," he said.

He also said that related to the case, his party had submitted an investigation to the police.

Kasatreskrim Polresta Bandarlampung Kompol Devi Sujana said the suspect's actions were discovered after a public report was received which was followed up by investigations and raids where EH usually operates.

During the inspection, it turned out that the materials used by the perpetrators were all genuine. Now the police are pursuing the supplier of the document material, so it is possible that there will be other suspects.

"We are still waiting for the results of the police investigation related to this case. However, basically we always carry out strict supervision of employees so that they carry out their duties and functions according to the provisions," he said.
