After Leaving The PKP, Said Salahudin Officially Joins The Labor Party
JAKARTA - The former Secretary General (Sekjen) of the Justice and Unity Party (PKP) Said Salahudin, has officially declared himself to be joining the Labor Party. He explained his reasons for choosing the Labor Party as a means of struggle, especially regarding ideology. "This party has ideals. Its ideology and line of struggle are clear," Said said at an online Labor Party press conference, Thursday, December 30. According to him, there is something different between the Labor Party and other political parties. "I have been a political observer for a dozen years and have even been an independent consultant for many political parties in Indonesia. So I know very well the difference between this party and other parties," explained the expert on constitutional law.
Said said, the figures or administrators of the Labor Party are people who have a commitment and have been tested in fighting for the interests of the people.
“There is no need for us to doubt our commitment to the labor leaders. Since the first, they have been sincere, selfless, and tireless, and have always consistently fought for the welfare of the people," he said. "Look at the results of their struggle in pushing for the BPJS Law, for example. People today can enjoy health insurance facilities at a more affordable cost," he continued.
Said assessed that the increase in wages and the fulfillment of workers' rights, which so far have also been enjoyed by workers and their families, are another example of the concrete struggle of the trade union leaders who are now joining the management of the Labor Party. He believes the Labor Party can say a lot in the 2024 election.
“The potential of this party is extraordinary. The party's membership base is not limited to the workers' group. But there are also fishermen, farmers, students, honorary teachers, urban poor, women's groups, housemaids, online motorcycle taxis, market traders, street vendors, and other elements of society. The joining of many elements of society makes me optimistic that the Labor Party will be victorious in the next general election," said Said. and the Winning Party (BPSKP) of the Labor Party, which is under and directly responsible to the President of the Party.
In addition, this expert in the field of elections was also appointed as the Chair of the Special Team (Timsus) for the Victory of the Labor Party. The main task of the Timsus is to ensure that the Labor Party can become a contestant in the 2024 election and pass the parliamentary threshold.
Said Salahudin previously served as Secretary General of the National Leadership Council of the Justice and Unity Party (PKP). Right on Hero's Day, November 10, 2021, he declared his resignation from the management and membership positions of the party.
