DVI East Java Police Hands Over 5 Bodies Of Victims Of The Mount Semeru Eruption
LUMAJANG - The East Java Regional Police's Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team handed over the bodies of five victims of the Mount Semeru hot cloud (APG) to their families at dr Haryoto Hospital, Lumajang Regency.
"Five bodies were handed over to their families today after the DVI Team succeeded in revealing the identities of the five bodies of victims of the Mount Semeru disaster," said Head of the Health Division of the East Java Police Kombes Pol Erwin Zainul Hakim at a press conference held at the Haryoto Lumajang Hospital. The five bodies that have been identified by the DVI Team are all male, namely the body of B-007 on behalf of Agus Sriwanto (31) a resident of Dusun Curah Kobokan, Supiturang Village, Pronojiwo District, identified through DNA; then the body of B-008 on behalf of Giman (87), a resident of Dusun Curah Kobokan, Supiturang Village, Pronojiwo District who was identified through DNA.
Another body, B-012, in the name of Mistono (45), a resident of North Kebondeli Hamlet, Sumberwuluh Village, Candipuro District, identified secondary; the body of B-018 on behalf of Mulyanto (28) a resident of Dusun Curah Kobokan, Supiturang Village, Pronojiwo District identified through DNA and the body of B-022 on behalf of Sofyan Fauzi (33) a resident of Bumiaji, Batu City, identified with DNA.
"The DVI team received 38 bodies and nine body parts. As many as 35 bodies have been identified, so there are three bodies that have not been identified and their DNA is still in the process of being matched," he said.
Erwin also appealed to people who had lost their families to immediately report to the DVI Command Post at Dr Haryoto Lumajang Hospital because his party conveyed the characteristics of the three bodies that had not been identified.
The body labeled B-023 is male, height 170-180 cm, age over 25 years old, and bald which was found in Sumberwuluh; then the label B-031, female gender, height 160-170 cm, and age over 40 years old found in Kampung Renteng; The body of label B-043, male, with a height between 145-155 cm was found in the Hamlet of Kamar Kajang.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Lumajang Police, AKBP Eka Yekti Hananto Seno, said that the DVI Command Post would remain open until January 3, 2022, and ensured that he would provide full services to people who had lost their family members.
"Immediate family are very helpful people for antemortem data and identification, so we need data from people who feel they have lost their family members," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Lumajang District Health Office, Dr. Ignasius Bayu Wibowo, appreciated the performance of the DVI Team who succeeded in revealing the identities of the victims of the Mount Semeru APG disaster.
