Shin Tae-yong Pockets 2 Names Of Thai Players That Indonesia Should Watch Out For
JAKARTA - The coach of the Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong, admitted that he had pocketed two names of Thai players that his team members had to watch out for. This was revealed by the coach in anticipation of the meeting of the two teams in the 2020 AFF Cup final.
"They (Thai players) must be watched out for, especially the number 18 player Chanathip Songkrasin and the second number 10 (Teerasil Dangda)," said Shin Tae Yong during a press conference ahead of the final match.
Indonesia and Thailand will meet in the 2020 AFF Cup final which will take place at the National Stadium, Singapore on Wednesday, December 29 at 19.30 WIB.
Shin Tae-yong's wariness of the two Thai players has strong reasons. Chanathip Songkrasin is Thailand's mainstay attacker who usually moves freely in the opponent's defense area.
Chanatip who also serves as captain of the Thailand national team is also very dangerous because he has qualified skills, good vision of playing, has speed, and has sharpness.
Because of his ability, Chanatip was even nicknamed the 'Thai Messi'. During his appearance in the AFF competition, he has recorded two goals which he bought at the same time when conquering Vietnam in the semifinal first leg match.
Meanwhile, Teerasil Dangda with the number 10 jersey is known as a seasoned striker that Thailand still relies on in the 2020 AFF Cup.
Teerasil is now also listed as the temporary top scorer for the 2020 AFF Cup with four goals, the same as Safawi Rasid's goal collection from Malaysia and Bienvenido Maranon from the Philippines.
Teerasil is also the record holder for the most goals scored in the history of the AFF Cup with 19 goals.
Based on the notes above, it seems natural that Shin Tae-yong warned his team to be able to closely monitor the movements of the two players. He also said Thailand had good overall game material.
"But overall the material for Thai players is very good, so all Thai players must be wary of," he said.
