Ganjar Expresses President Jokowi's Optimism, Indonesia Can Beat Thailand In AFF Cup Final

BOYOLALI - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo is optimistic that the Indonesian national team will win the 2021 AFF Cup. This optimism, said Ganjar, was also conveyed by President Joko Widodo during his meeting in Wonogiri, Tuesday, December 28 yesterday.

Ganjar said, in his meeting while accompanying President Jokowi to inaugurate the Pidekso Dam in Wonogiri, he discussed the Indonesian Football Team which will continue to advance to the 2021 AFF Cup Final.

"Yesterday, we met the President in Wonogiri, we talked with the cabinet secretary minister, minister of public affairs, BKPM, we talked about our pride because our (national team) has entered the final," said Ganjar after reviewing child vaccinations in Boyolali, Wednesday, December 29.

Ganjar said that the success of the Indonesian national team in entering the final of the 2021 AFF Cup raised the spirit of the nation and deserves support.

"Of course we will give full support and it feels like all the citizens of the nation are awakened today because of the tremendous achievements of the children," he said.

Ganjar invites the public to pray that the Garuda squad, which will face the Thailand national team in the 2021 AFF Cup Final first leg, can win the match. Ganjar said that President Jokowi was optimistic about the ability of coach Shin Tae Yong's team.

"We pray that we win, I have a chat with the president, what do you think, sir? 'If I saw Vietnam and Thailand yesterday, I think we can see how they play, we can read, we win.

As is known, the first leg of the 2021 AFF Cup Final between the Indonesia vs Thailand national team will take place at the National Stadium, Singapore, kick-off today at 19.30 WIB. The Indonesian national team made it into the 2021 AFF Cup Final after defeating the host Singapore with an aggregate score of 4-2.
