Megawati Still Looking For A Substitute For Risma, A Consolidated PDIP Surabaya Cadre
SURABAYA - PDI-P cadres in Surabaya, East Java, won solidly in winning the Surabaya Pilkada candidate pair chosen by Ketum Megawati Soekarnoputri. Cadres are still waiting for Megawati's decision for the Surabaya regional election.
Deputy Secretary of the PDIP Surabaya DPC, Ahmad Hidayat in Surabaya, said that the PDIP DPP would issue stage IV recommendations for the 2020 Surabaya Pilkada candidate pairs in the near future.
"The consolidation is carried out every day to ensure that all PDIP cadres are solid towards the decision of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri," he said as quoted by Antara, Saturday, August 22.
Hidayat said all party structures in Surabaya, from branches to branches and sub-branches (at the RW level), have been recorded according to name and address with contact numbers. In total there are more than 6,500 PDIP administrators. Everything has been entered into the database, making it easier for the chain of command.
"The consolidation is getting stronger. So as soon as the recommendation of the General Chairman, Mrs. Megawati, is announced, whoever the name comes out, all party structures are ready to move to win it," said Hidayat.
Megawati previously mentioned the name of Mayor Tri Rismaharini (Risma) in the PDIP regional head candidate party school. Risma was considered to have a good performance, so Mega admitted that it was difficult to find a replacement.
"If I may say looking for Mrs. Risma, I think it is a burden for me. His extraordinary struggle, dedication, made the city of Surabaya a city that is now also famous in the world. Because of what? Because the heat from the city of Surabaya can be lowered by two degrees, it is no joke, an extraordinary job, ”said Megawati at a party school for the regional head candidate from PDIP, Friday, August 21.
Meanwhile, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said that a number of internal cadres from the City of Surabaya have sharpened their political map for the mayoral election which will be held on December 9.
PDIP feels this sharpening is necessary, because they want whoever replaces Risma to have the same quality. Moreover, during the 10 years of Risma's leadership, there was a lot of progress.
In addition, Risma is called a firm leader because she doesn't compromise when making decisions. This has been proven in various incidents, such as when he refused to open inner-city toll roads because they could disturb city parks that were to be built.
"Therefore, we prepare well," said Hasto.
