Spend The New Year At Home, DKI Entertainment Places Only Open Until 8 PM
JAKARTA - All restaurants or other entertainment venues in DKI Jakarta on New Year's Eve 2022 are only allowed to open until 20.00 WIB so that there is no mass crowd so that there is a potential for COVID-19 transmission.
"We will control it because on New Year's Eve all entertainment venues are only allowed to operate until 20.00 WIB. It's all 'closed'," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Endra Zulpan when confirmed in Jakarta, Tuesday, December 28.
He explained that later, 8,000 Polda Metro Jaya personnel along with joint officers from the TNI and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government would go around monitoring all business premises.
They will check the completeness of health protocols, such as the availability of hand sanitizer, sinks and the PeduliLindung application at every place of business.
They will also ensure that the place of business is closed according to the specified operating hours. If later the police find a place of business that violates, the government will revoke the business license.
"If they are found to be violating the law, the regional government will revoke their business license. Because we operate from the Regional Police, the TNI Police are assisted by the Satpol PP," he said.
In addition to monitoring business premises, officers will also patrol every residential area to disperse fireworks and firecrackers.
This is done so as not to cause a crowd on New Year's Eve.
Zulpan hopes that DKI Jakarta residents will obey the government's advice not to hold firecrackers and New Year's parties.
"It is recommended not to do fireworks and crowds, let's have empathy. Now the COVID-19 pandemic situation is not over yet and new variants of Omicron (cases) are added," he said.
