Thai Coach Says About Indonesian National Team: They Are Young, Fast And Dangerous Players
JAKARTA - Thailand will face Indonesia in the 2020 AFF Cup final which will take place on Wednesday. Ahead of the first leg meeting, Thailand coach Alexandre Polking revealed his views on the national team.
Polking said that Shin Tae-yong's team did not have any flashy players, but that all national team players needed to be wary of. With full enthusiasm, the national team in Polking's eyes, is a team that deserves to be in the final round.
"We don't see one player at a time, but they are young players, always running, giving everything, all fast, dangerous, ups and downs," Polking said during an online press conference Tuesday, December 28.
"As a team, they (the national team contains) young players they did a good job in the tournament and deserved to be in the final and also the support of an experienced coach," he said again.
Furthermore, Polking also predicts that the match between his team and the Garuda squad will be tough and exciting. Despite being amazed by Indonesia's strength, Polking is also confident that they will be able to bring home the trophy.
"Like I said, there will be two tough matches. But we are ready to bring the trophy back home," he said.
Regarding Polking's statement that the national team is a collection of dangerous young players, it is indeed true. Because, Shin Tae-yong chose the players who were previously believed to be in the junior national team.
Several key players such as Asnawi Mangkualam, Pratama Arhan, Alfeandra Dewangga, Rizky Ridho, Witan Sulaeman, Egy Maulana Vikri, Rachmat Irianto, Ramai Rumakiek, and Elkan Baggott are even under 23 years old.
