Grandpa Was Hit By A Train At The Banyuwangi Labanasem Suspension Bridge, His Body Bounced Into The Ravine

BANYUWANGI - A grandfather named Untung was hit by the Pandanwangi train on a suspension bridge, Labanasem Village, Kabat District, Banyuwangi, East Java. As a result of being hit, the body of the grandfather from Slippery was thrown into a ravine and died.

Kabat Police Chief AKP Edy Susanto said the accident occurred at around 10.30 WIB, Tuesday, December 28. For no apparent reason, the 70-year-old grandfather walked down the railroad tracks.

"The victim had asked for a drink from one of the farmers who was working in the fields located on the edge of the rail. After drinking he continued walking," said AKP Edy.

When the victim was on the Km 75+800 railroad bridge, the Pandanwangi train was driving. At that time the victim's position was right in the middle of the bridge which has a height of 25 meters.

"The old victim couldn't do much and was finally hit by a train and bounced into a ravine and died. The victim's body has been evacuated by residents together with the Indonesian National Police and TNI," he said.

Meanwhile, Public Relations of PT KAI Daop 9 Jember, Tohari confirmed the accident. He said the incident caused the train to stop for a moment.

"The victim was walking in the middle of the tracks, the train stopped for a moment and then continued walking again," he said separately.
