Denies Siege Issues During Omicron Patient Evacuation At Green Bay Apartments, Police: He's Permitted To Shower And Eat
JAKARTA - The police denied reports that the Omicron patient had refused to be evacuated from the Green Bay Apartment unit, tower L, 7th floor AD, North Jakarta. In fact, the patient was cooperative.
"Regarding the problem of the patient's refusal, it is not true. The patient is actually cooperative," said Head of the Metro Penjaringan Police AKBP Febri Isman Jaya when contacted, Tuesday, December 28.
However, the evacuation process takes a little time. Because, the patient asked to take a shower and eat first.
"He asked for time to take a shower and eat first. There was confusion outside, he said the apartment was surrounded by a community task force because the patient was not cooperative, even though he was cooperative," said Febri.
In addition, Febri also stated that the evacuation was only carried out today because it was already late at night.
"Actually, we were picked up last night only because the situation for evacuation was late. I'm afraid we have to be completely sterile. We have to wear all kinds of PPE. We don't pick them up immediately," said Febri.
Currently, the Omicron patient has been evacuated to the Sulianti Saroso Infection Center Hospital, North Jakarta, to undergo a period of quarantine.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, said the patient who was exposed to local transmission Omicron lived in Medan and went to Jakarta once a month. From existing data, this man and his wife arrived in Jakarta on December 6 last.
Then, on December 17th, they visited a restaurant in SCBD, South Jakarta, and on December 19th they tested positive for COVID-19.
"The patient and his wife did an antigen test and were declared positive because the person concerned was planning to return to Medan. Then PCR was carried out on December 20 and confirmation of omicron was obtained from the laboratory on December 26," explained Nadia.
