TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa Will Investigate The Termination Of The AW-101 Helicopter Corruption Investigation
JAKARTA - The TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa has spoken regarding the termination of the investigation into the alleged corruption in the purchase of the AW-101 helicopter by the Indonesian Air Force (AU). He said he would do a search first.
Andika said the investigation was carried out because he had just served as the TNI Commander. Thus, there are many things that still need to be studied further.
"I have to investigate first. I'm still orienting my tasks more deeply, so I still don't know everything," Andika said when contacted by reporters, Tuesday, December 28.
Not only that, he confirmed that he would study the files on the alleged corruption involving the five officers in the Indonesian Air Force. "I will first study the files that have been made to come to a conclusion," he said.
As previously reported, the Director of Investigation of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Setyo Budiyanto said the TNI had stopped investigating the five officers who were suspects.
The five officers are Deputy Governor of the Air Force Academy, First Marshal Fachry Adamy, who is a former commitment maker or Chief of the TNI AU Procurement Staff for 2016-2017. In addition, there is also Lieutenant Colonel TNI AU (Adm) WW as a former Head of Headquarters; Pelda SS as Bauryar Pekas Diskuau; Colonel (Purn) FTS as former Sesdisadaau; and Marshal of the Indonesian Armed Forces (Ret.) SB as the Special Staff of the Kasau (former Asrena KSAU).
"The investigation into the AW-101 helicopter problem, coordination regarding issues or information related to the TNI has been stopped," Setyo said as quoted from the Indonesian KPK, Tuesday, December 28.
Even so, Setyo ensured that the investigation into the suspect from the private sector, namely the President Director of PT Diratama Jaya Mandiri, Irfan Kurnia, would continue.
For information, in April 2016 the Indonesian Air Force purchased a helicopter of the AW-101 type. Two companies participated in the auction, namely PT Diratama Jaya Mandiri and PT Karya Cipta Gemilang.
Then, PT Diratama Jaya Mandiri came out as the winner and increased the contract value to Rp738 billion. From the procurement project, it was detected that there was a price difference of Rp. 224 billion, which was indicated as a state loss.
