Indomaret Vs. Alfamart Is Conglomerate Anthony Salim With Assets Of Rp. 121.5 Trillion Vs. Djoko Susanto, Owner Of Wealth Of Rp. 27.1 Trillion
JAKARTA - The conglomerates that own the retail business Indomaret and Alfamart are in the top 50 richest people in Indonesia in 2021 according to Forbes. Interesting to observe, who is wealthier between the two?
The two conglomerates are Anthony Salim, owner of Indomaret and Djoko Susanto, owner of Alfamart. Both of them are big businessmen in the retail industry with ownership of more than 15,000 outlets until the first semester of 2021.
Based on Forbes data, as of December 2021, Anthony Salim, who is also the boss of Indofood, is ranked as the third richest person in Indonesia, with a total wealth of US$8.5 billion or equivalent to Rp121.5 trillion.
Anthony Salim also heads the Salim Group, with investments in food, retail, banking, telecommunications and energy. Anthony Salim is the CEO of Indofood with US$5.8 billion in revenue, one of the world's largest instant noodle makers.
As for the first semester of 2021, Indomaret has opened 600 new stores, and a total of up to 2020 the number of outlets has reached 18,113 units.
Meanwhile, Alfamart boss Djoko Susanto currently has an income of 1.9 billion US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 27.1 trillion. He occupies the 22nd position in the ranks of the 50 richest people in Indonesia.
Djoko Susanto is the owner of the Alfamart group, a retail business with a minimart concept. Until the first semester of 2021, Alfamart is preparing to open 650-850 new outlets.
Just a note, the number of Alfamart outlets has reached 15,434 units by the end of 2020.
