Provincial Government: More Than 1.8 Million Students In Central Java Have Been Injected With The COVID-19 Vaccine

SEMARANG - The Central Java Provincial Government noted that 1,868,878 students from all school levels in the area as of December 26, 2021 had received an injection of the COVID-19 vaccine.

"At the school level managed by the provincial government, the details are 375,188 high school students, 638,411 vocational students and 6,559 special school students," said Central Java Provincial Secretary Sumarno in Semarang as quoted by Antara, Monday, December 27.

Furthermore, in schools managed by district/city governments, the details are 651,526 students from TK, PAUD, KB, SD, SMP education units, while schools handled by the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion include RA, MI, MTs, MA with a total of 197,194 students who have been vaccinated.

Sumarno said that not only students who have undergone COVID-19 vaccination, but also educators and teachers who have been injected with vaccines. "For educators and teachers who have been vaccinated in all education units, a total of 310,686 people have been vaccinated," he said.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Education and Culture Office of Central Java Province, Suyanta added, that high school, vocational and special education students in Central Java have almost 100 percent been vaccinated against COVID-19.

"High school and vocational high school students seem to be approaching 100 percent, except for those who are sick," he said.

Data from the Central Java Disdikbud recorded that the number of high school, vocational and special education students who had been vaccinated reached 1,020,158 students or about 89 percent of the total 1,236,296 students.

According to him, there are several ways to get high school, vocational and special school students vaccinated quickly, namely the pick-up system, starting from asking the head of the local district/city education office and school principals to be proactive.

"Not only that, cooperation with the health office, TNI, Polri and companies is also carried out. We also appoint branch offices so that all of them move for vaccination," he said.
