Bukittinggi Zoo Remains Open During Christmas-New Year Holidays, Management Guarantees To Apply Strict Proces

BUKITINGGI - The Bukittinggi Kinantan Wildlife Park (TMSBK), popularly called the Bukittinggi City Zoo, West Sumatra Province, remains open during the Christmas and New Year holidays by implementing health protocols (prokes).

"According to the results of a meeting with Forkopimda, TMSBK is allowed to be open to the public during this holiday, but all our employees will ensure the implementation of the procedures for all visitors while they are in the location," said TMSBK Head Yopi Zulfikar in Bukittinggi, Antara, Monday, December 27.

He said, as many as 80 TMSBK employees work actively taking turns supervising and unraveling the crowds of visitors, especially during holidays.

"TMSBK visitors are generally relatively increasing at this time, there are about five thousand to six thousand residents who enter, but we work around so that they do not enter at the same time, we allow them to enter alternately so that there is no accumulation," said Yopi.

He said the figure was obtained during the year-end holidays on Saturday and Sunday, but on weekdays it was around 1,000 to 3,000 visitors. Yopi said that his party was also coordinating with the police by setting a routine schedule for inspections from the Bukittinggi Police at TMSBK.

"The intensity of supervision from the Bukittinggi Police is further increased during this holiday, every day the police conduct inspections in the morning, afternoon and evening," he said.

He said, TMSBK as the main tourist attraction of Bukittinggi City has currently achieved its regional revenue target with enthusiastic visitors who do not stop coming to the area along with the decline in the number of COVID-19.

"Alhamdulillah, TMSBK has passed the regional revenue target of IDR 13 billion this year," he said.

Yopi added that TMSBK currently has 21 security officers, 40 guards and HR employees and 19 cleaning employees.

"With all employees present and surveillance through CCTV cameras, we are persuasive to always emphasize the importance of maintaining health protocols for all visitors who come," he said.
