Kemenpora Gives PBSI Bonus Of IDR 10 Billion
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) gives a bonus as a form of appreciation to sports management who have excelled throughout 2021. One of those who received a bonus was the All-Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI).
The awarding of this bonus took place on Monday, December 27 at the Wisma Kemenpora, Jakarta. PBSI is the administrator or federation that is considered the most fertile in contributing medals and titles for Indonesia in the international arena.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Youth and Sports gave a bonus to PBSI of Rp. 10 billion which would later be intended for the federation and outstanding badminton athletes.
PBSI was chosen as the recipient of the bonus because it had the most striking achievement throughout 2021. One of the proudest records is the success of continuing the gold tradition at the Olympics through the victory of Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu. In addition, Anthony Ginting also donated a bronze medal from the Olympics.
Meanwhile, in October, Indonesia managed to bring home the Thomas Cup after 19 years of fasting. The result was achieved by Indonesia after defeating the Chinese representative in the final with a landslide score of 3-0.
General Chairperson of PP PBSI Agung Firman Sampurna who was present at this event said the bonus given by the Kemenpora should be a motivation to achieve more achievements at the international level.
"Let's rise together, raise national sports with achievements at the world level," said Agung when giving his speech.
In addition to PBSI, the Kemenpora bonus was also aimed at the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) which received IDR 5 billion. There is also a bonus for the All-Indonesia Weightlifting Association (PABSI) of IDR 1.25 billion.
The NPC received a bonus because it was considered successful in fostering athletes who made Indonesia win 2 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze in the Olympics. Meanwhile, PABSI is able to bring Indonesian lifters as a branch that regularly donates medals at the Olympics.
At the 2020 Olympics, the Indonesian Weightlifting Team was even able to donate one silver and two bronzes through the names of Eko Yuli Irawan, Rahmat Erwin Abdullah, and Windy Cantika Aisah.
