Closing Sanctions For Nightclubs That Break The Rules On New Year's Eve

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will tighten health protocols in places that have the potential for crowds to prevent transmission of the Omicron variant on New Year's Eve next week.

The tightening includes nightlife venues and other crowded points.

East Jakarta Civil Service Police (Satpol PP) Head, Budhy, said that his party will ensure strict supervision at night entertainment venues that have the potential to cause crowds.

"(supervision) Night entertainment venues, later we will invite, coordinate with the Tourism Sub-Department to invite entrepreneurs engaged in the tourism business sector of cafes, restaurants, malls and other karaoke entertainment," said Budhy when contacted by VOI, Monday, December 27.

Budhy emphasized that his party did not hesitate to take firm action if violations were found in the field.

"The direction is firm, because now the principle of tightened restrictions will be carried out according to the circular letter of the Minister of Home Affairs, closing the operational permit. And if it is not licensed, we will close it forever," he said.

As is known, in the decision of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, he instructed that from December 24 to January 2, the rules in DKI follow the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 66 regarding the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 at Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022.
