'How Come His Hair Is The Same As Mine, White', Jokes Ganjar To Sister While Eating Meatballs With Father Robertus Rubiyatmoko

SEMARANG - The song Merry Christmas played melodiously at the house of the Archbishop of Semarang, Father Robertus Rubiyatmoko, Saturday, December 25. The Sisters were so excited to sing the song of joy to welcome the arrival of the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo.

Today Ganjar is going around to a number of churches in Semarang City. In addition to monitoring the implementation of Christmas at the Alfa Omega Church and Atmodirono Church Semarang, Ganjar took the time to visit the residence of Father Rubiyatmoko in the Semarang Cathedral Church area.

When he arrived at the Archdiocese of Semarang, Ganjar was immediately greeted by Father Robertus Rubiyatmoko. After chatting for a while, Ganjar was then invited into the room to eat together

The menu served is meatballs, sukiyaki and chicken satay. Ganjar, Father Robertus Rubiyatmoko and other priests ate at the same table, while chatting together. From time to time, Ganjar also joked at the Sisters who were there.

"His voice was good, you know, how long did it take you to practice? That's why his hair is the same as mine, white," he joked to laughter.

Father Robertus Rubiyatmoko expressed his gratitude to Ganjar and all his staff. This is because the government has paid so much attention to the success of this year's Christmas celebrations.

"I am very grateful and appreciate Pak Ganjar and the ranks of the TNI/Polri who really pay attention to the Christmas celebration. We judge that the government is very extraordinary in its work and we say thank you," said Father Rubiyatmoko.

Romo also thanked all Christians who have carried out worship by implementing strict health protocols. He advised the people to continue to maintain the process for the sake of mutual health.

"Merry Christmas and New Year to all Christians. This Christmas celebration is quite encouraging, because we can celebrate face-to-face in church even though it is limited and the procedure is strict. This is a very beautiful opportunity for us to be able to be grateful for God's grace," he concluded.

Meanwhile, Ganjar said, this year's Christmas celebrations in Central Java went smoothly. So far, all Christmas activities have been running smoothly and safely.

"Alhamdulillah, so far it has gone smoothly because the preparations have been good. The progress is tight and there is a Task Force that supervises it. I also see that the people are all cheerful, because compared to last year, this year more people are able to celebrate Christmas at church. I am happy to see all the people happy, " he said.

Asked about the surge in visitors to Central Java, Ganjar said there had been no significant spike. To this day, the flow of vehicles entering Central Java is not too high.

"Until today it's safe, good. The surge of vehicles entering Central Java is also not too high, so it can still be controlled properly. I was sent a video of vehicles entering the toll gate, not too many. So far the condition is still good, hopefully everyone can take care well, not only in churches, but also in malls, tourist attractions and crowded places, all must obey health protocols," he said.
