Merry Christmas 2021, Minister Of Religion Asks No Separation, We Are All Brothers
BANDARLAMPUNG - Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas appealed to the public so that there is no segregation or class separation among religious people. The community is asked to continue to cultivate the spirit of brotherhood and unity.
"There should be no segregation between religious believers, because God Almighty has given gifts to everyone without exception," said Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, in Bandar Lampung, quoted by Antara, Friday, December 24.
The Minister of Religion said that to prevent segregation between religious believers, it could be done by strengthening the spirit of brotherhood.
"We must cultivate the spirit of brotherhood, there is no difference between religious people. Indonesia stands tall not because of the struggle of one religion, but all religions, so we can enjoy a beautiful Indonesia because of the spirit of brotherhood," he said.
According to Yaqut, by being grateful, managing the existing differences and diversity well, it will form a solid strength.
"Our differences make us help each other and form brotherhood. The point is that we bear each other's troubles as one. The joy we feel becomes our joy together, and if the life of the religious nation is chaotic, it becomes our shared sorrow," continued Minister of Religion Yaqut.
According to him, inter-religious tolerance is something that must be done to maintain national diversity.
"Together we can create an attitude of tolerance so that religious people can take care of each other. On Christmas Day, everyone is expected to feel the same happiness," he said again.
Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas on Christmas Eve, December 24, reviewed the implementation of the Christmas Eve service at one of the churches, namely the Cathedral of Christ the King of Tanjung Karang, which was carried out on a limited basis by applying health protocols consistently and strictly.
