Deputy Governor Of DKI Asks Residents To Obey Rules When Celebrating Christmas And New Year

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria asked the public to obey the Instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) and the Governor's Decree (Kepgub) when celebrating Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022.

"The point is that everyone must obey and obey the existing rules, we ask not to travel abroad, to regions, no need to gather, no need for New Year's Eve (celebration)," Riza said at the Jakarta City Hall, Friday, December 24. .

Even if there is no isolation at some points that have been busy so far, he said, gatherings are not allowed.

In terms of security, Riza said, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government together with the TNI and Polri work together to ensure that Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022 can run solemnly, conducively and without crowds to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

"We continue to coordinate with the security forces. We guarantee that security will be carried out as well as possible, so that Christmas and New Year go well and there are no crowds that can cause the spread of COVID-19," he said.

Riza emphasized that people should not carry out activities that can increase mobility and cause crowds considering that there has been a new variant of COVID-19, Omicron in Jakarta.

"We have to remember that in previous years there was always an increase at the end of the year, that should be a lesson. Even though DKI has 11.3 million vaccines, it doesn't mean we can be careless and euphoric, but we must be vigilant and implement health protocols," he said.
