Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Hopes Science And Technology Combines With Imtak
BANDARLAMPUNG - Vice President KH. Ma'ruf Amin expects a combination of science and technology (Iptek) with faith and piety (Imtak).
"The existence of a mosque in the middle of the campus is very important so that there is a combination of science and technology (Science) with faith and piety (Imtak)," he said, while inaugurating the Safinatul Ulum Mosque at UIN Raden Intan Lampung, in Bandarlampung, quoted by Antara, Friday, December 24.
Ma'ruf Amin also hopes that on campuses, especially those that generally have mosques, because this is important so that the mastery of science and technology is accompanied by faith and piety.
Thus, he continued, students at each campus are expected to master not only natural law (takwini) but also sharia law (tasyri'i).
"Between the mastery of _nidzom takwini_ (natural science) and nidzom tasyri'i (shari'a science), so both are controlled. If the takwini is a matter of how to build prosperity, in a mosque that has taklifi (religion), so, nidzom rabbani ( God's law), both takwini and taklifi can be united in campus, to produce quality human resources," he said.
The goal, he continued, is none other than to create quality Indonesian human resources (HR).
"I think we really hope that later on all (Islamic) campuses there will be mosques, especially in public universities," he said.
The Chancellor of UIN Radin Intan Lampung, Prof. Dr. Moh Mukri MAg, expressed his gratitude for the completion of the construction of the Safinatul Ulum Mosque and it had been inaugurated by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.
"Alhamdulillah, the construction of this mosque took about 8 years. And this mosque can also be inaugurated by the Vice President, Prof. KH Ma'ruf Amin," he said.
He said, the Safinatul Ulum Mosque was built with a special spirit of togetherness for the residents of the UIN Raden Intan Lampung campus. This mosque is not just for worship such as obligatory prayers and sunnah prayers.
"More than that, this mosque is a center for Islamic and scientific studies for civilization," he said.
