BRI Hopes BI Fast Implementation Will Provide Many Benefits For Customers

JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk. (BRI) welcomes the implementation of the first phase of BI Fast Payment (BI FAST), which started on December 21.

BRI Director of Consumer Business Handayani said that her party was one of 21 banking financial institutions that were given the opportunity to participate in the use of this facility in the initial period.

“BRI has carried out implementation trials to ensure BI Fast operations run safely, quickly and efficiently. We hope that BI FAST can provide many benefits for customers," he said in an official statement, Friday, December 24.

According to Handayani, this new facility from the central bank has several advantages. First, it can be done 24 hours in 7 days in real time, both in terms of transactions and settlement.

Second, there is a proxy address enabled feature that supports transaction confidentiality because it can use aliases when transacting. Third, the transaction fee is cheaper.

“Bank Indonesia has set the transaction price from BI to BI FAST participating banks to be Rp19 per transaction. Meanwhile, the transaction price from BI FAST participating banks to customers is set at a maximum of IDR 2,500 or lower than the previous one which touched IDR 6,500," he said.

Handayani added, the company has also finalized the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) while waiting for the progress rate to increase and routinely evaluates BI FAST operations in order to continue to improve service quality.

"BRI is finalizing the preparation of SOPs and waiting for the progress of the success rate increase for both the industry and BRI by 99.5 percent for both incoming and outgoing, as well as conducting weekly evaluations for gradual rollout to customers," he concluded.
