Looking At The Second Leg Against Singapore, Shin Tae-yong Is Optimistic That Indonesia Will Perform Better
JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong expressed optimism ahead of the 2020 AFF Cup semifinal second leg match against Singapore. He believes the national team will perform even better than before.
In the first leg, Indonesia and Singapore ended the match with a 1-1 draw. This was felt by Shin Tae-yong to be unsatisfactory, so he was determined to spur his team to perform even better in the second leg.
"Indeed, Indonesia and Singapore both worked hard in the first leg, but it was a very unfortunate match (it ended in a draw)," Shin said in an online virtual press conference on Friday, December 24.
"After that, we will obviously try our best to prepare better for the second leg match," continued the coach.
The 2020 AFF Cup semi-final second leg match between Indonesia and Singapore will take place tomorrow at the National Stadium, Singapore.
In addition to Shin Tae-yong's optimism, it is believed that the strength of the national team will increase with the presence of Egy Maulana Vikri. After arriving in Singapore, last Wednesday, Egy was predicted to immediately join the team, but the coach chose to give him a break.
Currently, Egy is fit and has even joined the team. Egy's presence is expected to help the national team beat Singapore against Singapore, because the chances of both teams to advance to the final are the same.
