Citilink Receives A Reprimand From The Aviation Authority For 19 Aircraft Damages In The Last 3 Months

JAKARTA - Citilink airline received a warning from the aviation authority. The reason, it is known that dozens of Citilink planes were damaged.

This was conveyed by the Directorate of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operation (DKPPU) of the Directorate General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub). Director of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operations Dadun Kohar stated, the results of the Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia (GMF) audit where 19 Citilink A320 aircraft were damaged in the last three months in aircraft safety features.

"We ask GMF Aero Asia to follow up as follows, GMF AeroAsia immediately repairs the open HIL (damaged safety feature) Brake on 19 Citilink A320 aircraft," said Dadun Kohar in an official statement, quoted Friday, December 24.

GMF AeroAsia is asked to immediately review the HIL (Hold Item List) status from August to December 2021 to ensure that the security features are really proper.

"GMF AeroAsia immediately identified the serial number of the problematic component to be removed from the aircraft and stored in the quarantine area," he explained.

Not only that, GMF AeroAsia must ensure that the problem of unavailability of spare parts and supply chain management does not become a latent hazard that affects flight safety and compliance with applicable regulations and procedures.

"Finally, GMF was asked to complete the findings of various audits submitted by the Ministry of Transportation and Citilink must improve the control and supervision functions of GMF AeroAs," he concluded.
