Woman In Tarakan Committed Suicide By Arson

TARAKAN - A woman with the initials NL (46) died setting herself on fire with gasoline in the backyard of her house in the Selengkung area, Tarakan, North Kalimantan.

"Burned himself outside the house but in the back. The victim is known to have set himself on fire for the first time from his brother," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tarakan Police, Iptu Muhammad Aldi, quoted by Antara, Thursday, December 23.

Currently, the victim's body has been post-mortem at the Tarakan Regional General Hospital (RSUD).

Aldi said that from the initial examination there were no signs of violence, only burns.

"We are still examining witnesses and investigating the cause of the victim's suicide," he said.

The victims of NL are housewives and have young children.
