Inspector General Fakhiri Ensures His Men Use A Humanist Approach In Papua
PAPUA - Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Mathius D Fakhiri ensured that all police personnel in Papua prioritize a humanist approach so that the conduciveness of National Security and Security is maintained.
"Police in the ranks of the Papua Regional Police in interacting with the community continue to take a soft approach policing or humanely through Binmas Noken," said Fakhiri during the final reflection of 2021 in Jayapura, Antara, Thursday, December 23.
Several activities and programs have been carried out by the Papuan Regional Police in 2021, including routine patrols, socialization, increasing the role of Bhabinkamtibmas, and increasing the number of problem solving.
Furthermore, increasing intra-police and cross-agency police synergies, increasing community participation, developing a harmonious and democratic society.
"And zero violations for members of the Papua Regional Police as well as realizing a law-abiding Police and abiding by the professional code of ethics," he said.
He said the implementation of Binmas Noken must be carried out together with balancing partners, including involving experts, NGOs, academics, mass media, social observers as well as central and local government stakeholders.
"It is hoped that in 2022 the (Papua) Regional Police will also involve the regent to handle security and security issues in the region to support the acceleration and handling of problem solving in the local government area," he said.
Regarding the disturbance of public order and security where the trend of conventional crime has increased by 20.98 percent from 3,212 cases in 2020 to 3,886 cases in 2021.
Of the 3,886 cases, including cases of theft, motor vehicle theft, beatings, theft with weight, theft with violence, severe abuse to murder.
