SAR Team Searches For 3 People Dragged By Cikapundung River Current Lembang West Bandung
BANDUNG - The Search and Rescue Office or SAR Bandung conducted a search for three people who were reported to have been swept away by a river in a tributary of the Cikapundung River, Lembang District, West Bandung Regency, West Java.
Head of the Bandung SAR Office, Deden Ridwansyah, said the victims who were swept away by the current were thought to have fallen into the river because they slipped while trying to save their pet dog.
"One victim slipped and the other two slipped while trying to help the first victim," said Deden in Bandung, quoted by Antara, Thursday, December 23.
According to Deden, a rescue team has been dispatched to go to the scene at 13.18 WIB. The three people named Maya, Reren, and one person whose identity is not yet known.
"Until now, the three victims who were dragged by the river are still being searched by the SAR team," he said.
The SAR team deployed one unit of Rescue Car Double Cabin, one unit of LCR, one set of Palsar Air, one set of Alkom Equipment, one set of Medical Equipment and Personal PPE.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Lembang Police, Kompol Sarce Christie, said that the victims were mothers and children. They were swept away by the current due to the strong current around the river where the incident occurred.
"The water is so strong it's even gone up to the side of the house," said Sarce.
His party will also coordinate with search and rescue officers in the city of Bandung to search for victims by conducting sweeps to the Cikapundung River.
"Currently the river has subsided, it has receded, and the SAR team is currently compiling equipment for sweeping," he said.
