JAKARTA - Video of Vice President Ma'ruf Amin wishing you a Merry Christmas wearing a Santa Claus costume has gone viral on social media. This video was shared by an account named @Putra Inka.
The post, which was liked by more than 270 Facebook users and shared 306 times, shows Ma'ruf Amin wishing him a merry Christmas wearing a Santa Claus costume.

After searching the related facts using google search image, it is known that the video was edited. The original video can be found on the @indonesia.pusaka instagram account.
The video of the Merry Christmas by Ma'ruf Amin is entitled, Merry Christmas 2018 & New Year 2019, accompanied by a caption that reads, "KH Ma'ruf Amin Wishes Merry Christmas and New Year 2018".
Another video was also found on a YouTube channel called @Bang Den which has been uploading the video since December 26, 2018.
The two original videos have something in common, namely Ma'ruf Amin wishing Christians a Merry Christmas by wearing his trademark clothes, namely a black skullcap, black shirt, and a white turban.
"At that time in December 2018, Ma'ruf Amin's video became controversial because he wished me a Merry Christmas. At the same time, an edited video was circulated that was exactly the same as Putra Inka's post, namely Ma'ruf Amin wearing a Santa Claus costume," wrote turnbackhoax. .
Due to the viral video, the Chairperson of the Jokowi-Ma'ruf TKD, Bogor Regency, Ade Ruhandi (Jaro Ade) once complained about the perpetrators of spreading hoax videos to the police.
The perpetrator named Sustiyono was reported under Article 35 J0 51 paragraph (1) of Law No.19 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law no. 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Eldormic Transactions and or Article 14 paragraph (2) and Article 15 of Law NO. 1 of 1946 concerning Criminal Law Regulations.
"Based on the data collected, it can be concluded that Putra Inka's post is not true and belongs to the category of manipulated content," said turnbackhoax.
