West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said this policy was in line with the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 66 of 2021 concerning the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 at Christmas and New Year.

One of them, explained Ridwan Kamil, regulates the closure of squares throughout the country before and after the turn of the year.

Although the central government has decided that there will be no roadblocks, West Java will be stricter, one of which is to eliminate New Year's celebrations.

Ridwan Kamil added that the West Java Provincial Government would tighten restrictions on tourist attractions. For example, by carrying out strict supervision in the use of the PeduliLindung application and the capacity of visitors.

"Then we will also tighten it at the tourist center to ensure that the PeduliLindung application is actually used, as a basis for selecting people who have the potential for COVID-19 to be screened through the application as well because they have done vaccines more or less twice," Kang Emil, Ridwan Kamil's nickname.

"The troops have anticipated with security at various strategic points and then combined it with random antigens to ensure that those traveling are safe, then we carry out situational vaccinations," he continued.

"Seeing the situation of reports from intelligence, reports from the community, reports from all parties, God willing, West Java is conducive so that Christians are welcome to celebrate Christmas safely and quietly. One thousand percent security is guaranteed by the state through more than 170,000 personnel prepared from all over Indonesia, including in Java. West," he said.

However, said Kang Emil, there are still restrictions on the capacity of the congregation who can worship in the church. Bearing in mind that the COVID-19 pandemic is still not completely over, although it has decreased.

"However, the COVID-19 situation is not over yet, in a situation where there is an Omicron threat, it is recommended that in accordance with the circular of the Minister of Religion, there should be a combination of hybrid worship and 50 percent capacity. Hopefully, it will be obeyed without compromising our solemnity and those of us who are worshiping," he said. Kang Emil.
