Receive Grants From DKI Regional Budget, Political Parties Must Use Transparently

JAKARTA - Ten political parties (political parties) received grants in the form of financial assistance from the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan. This fund is sourced from the 2021 DKI Regional Budget.

Chairman of Commission A DPRD DKI Jakarta Mujiyono asked every political party to use the grant funds as well as possible in accordance with the laws and regulations. Because this fund is public money.

"The use of these grant funds must be carried out properly in accordance with the law. Because this involves people's money, grants through the APBD," said Mujiyono in his statement, Thursday, December 23.

It is known, the political party assistance funds have increased from the previous period. Usually, said Mujiyono, the grant for this political party is Rp. 2,400 per vote. Now, it has increased to IDR 5,000 per vote since 2020.

Therefore, Mujiyono emphasized that political parties must submit reports on the use of aid funds in a transparent manner without being covered up.

"Reports on the use of grant funds must also be reported in a transparent, accountable manner, and published in public places. For example, at the party office, so that the public knows, there should be no fictitious reports," he said.

Yesterday, Anies provided financial assistance to political parties (political parties) for the 2021 fiscal year. The allocation of political party funds from the 2021 APBD reached IDR 27 billion or IDR 27,255,145,000.

The amount of aid funds for each party in the legislature is calculated from Rp. 5,000 times the number of votes obtained by the political parties in the legislative elections.

In DKI, PDIP received the most political party funds, which was around Rp. 6.6 billion. Followed by Gerindra which received Rp4.6 billion in funds, PKS Rp4.5 billion, PSI Rp2 billion, Democrats Rp1.9 billion, PAN Rp1.8 billion, Nasdem Rp1.5 billion, PKB Rp1.5 billion, Golkar Rp1.5 billion , and PPP Rp.884 million. This political party fund grant is contained in Article 25 paragraph (4) of Permendagri Number 36 of 2018 concerning Procedures for Calculation, Budgeting in Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budgets, and Orderly Administration of Submission, Distribution, and Accountability Reports on the Use of Financial Aid Political parties.

In the Permendagri, financial assistance is channeled to political parties through the official accounts of each political party. Then, it is necessary to submit proof of receipt accompanied by the signing of the minutes of the handover of the financial assistance by the chairman and treasurer of the political party at the provincial level together with the governor or the head of the National and Political Unity Agency (Kesbangpol).
