Buses That Are Not Suitable For Operation And Are Not Permitted To Circulate At Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Officers Take Action

JAKARTA - Joint officers found an illegal bus while conducting a ramp check at the Kampung Rambutan Terminal, East Jakarta. The bus that did not have a permit to carry passengers was immediately given a warning and expulsion.

Head of Kampung Rambutan Terminal Yulza Ramadhoni said joint officers with the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ) conducted routine ramp checks on dozens of inter-provincial buses.

Checks to determine the feasibility of the bus before departing from the terminal with passengers.

"This examination is expected to reduce the rate of traffic accidents, especially during the Christmas and New Year holidays," he told reporters, Thursday, December 23.

During this inspection, officers found the bus did not have a passenger transport permit. The bus is only intended for tourism.

"A warning was given to the bus manager and an act of expulsion from the terminal," he said.

Furthermore, the Head of the Kampung Rambutan Terminal said that from the dozens of buses inspected, five to seven buses were still found to be unfit for operation.

"The bus was immediately returned to the pool to be repaired and equipped with deficiencies," he said.
