Leaked Huawei Mate 40 Uses Liquid Camera Technology

JAKARTA - Rumors and leaks of the latest Huawei Mate 40 and 40 Pro devices have been circulating on the Internet. But until now the Chinese manufacturer is still silent about the specifications of this flagship smartphone.

Leaks of information such as patent designs, to camera technology that will be used from the successor to the Mate 30 are also widely discussed by tech enthusiasts. Moreover, this phone will be Huawei's latest series after receiving pressure from the United States (US).

According to the latest leak shared by the Weibo social media account, the Huawei Mate 40 will use liquid camera technology. The patent design for the liquid camera module design was approved by the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) in April.

Based on the patent document, this Huawei camera module allows liquid lenses to get autofocus points more quickly and stably. It doesn't even require additional sensors or Image Stabilization (EIS or OIS) devices, as summarized from Gizchina, Wednesday, August 19.

While the leaked specifications shared by the @ RODENT905 Twitter account, mention that the Huawei Mate 40 will come with a 50MP main camera sensor, 20MP ultra-wide-angle and 8MP telephoto lens. This phone will have a size of 6.67 inches with a screen panel made by LG that supports a 90Hz refresh rate.

This phone will also be Huawei's last flagship to use the Kirin 9,000 chipset. Due to trade pressure from the US government, it is difficult for HiSilicon to make vital components for this smartphone.

For software, Huawei Mate 40 will be installed using EMUI 11 based on Android 11 with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS). This phone will have a battery with a capacity of 4,300 mAh to 5,000 mAh for the highest variant.

It is believed that Huawei will announce the Mate 40 series in September 2020. The Huawei Mate 40 will be priced at 870 US dollars or equivalent to Rp12 million.
