Failed To Enter Oscar 2002, Yuni's Film Has Recorded A Series Of Other Achievements
JAKARTA - The film Yuni directed by Kamila Andini became Indonesia's representative for the International Feature Film category at the Academy Award or Oscar 2022. Unfortunately, this film did not make it through the selection of the Oscar 2022 jury.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the 10 categories of the 94th Academy Awards. For the International Feature Film category, there were 15 films that passed the initial selection for the International Feature Film category.

The nominations for the 94th Academy Awards or Oscars 2022 will be announced on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 and the event will be on Sunday, March 27, 2022.
Yuni is a drama film directed and written by Kamila Andini. This film is a film project that has been prepared since 2017 and produced by Fourcolours Films with producer Ifa Isfansyah. Despite failing at the 2022 Oscars, this film has recorded achievements at other world film festivals.
Yuni's film premiered and competed at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival on a joint platform program and competed with seven other selected films from a number of countries, one of which was the film Like Dendam, Rindu Must be Paid Tuntas which also competed in this event. In the event, Yuni won the Platform Prize award.
This film also premiered at the 2021 Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in the A Window on Asian Cinema program along with other Indonesian films, namely "Like Revenge, Longing Must Be Paid Completely", "Light Copy", and "The Sea Calls Me".
Domestically, "Yuni" won the Citra Trophy for Best Leading Actress at the 2021 Indonesian Film Festival (FFI) through the play by Arainda Kirana, which was her big screen debut.
Recently, Arawinda Kirana on Monday (13/12) local time received the Silver Yusr Award in the best actress category at the Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF) 2021 in Saudi Arabia for her role in the film Yuni.
