Pertamina Gas Subholding Supply Natural Gas To Ecotourism In Batam
JAKARTA - Pertamina Gas Subholding, PT Gagas Energi Indonesia (Gagas) distributes natural gas to Panbil Nature Reserve Batam. This is a Pertamina Subholding support for nature-based tourism or ecotourism.
President Director of Gagas Muhammad Hardiansyah stated, "Gagas as an affiliate of PT PGN is committed to supporting the Indonesian economy to recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially the tourism sector as the sector that has the biggest impact.
"We provide fuel at an efficient price, even for some existing customers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, we provide a price stimulus policy. Natural gas services as environmentally friendly energy in Panbil are also a form of seriousness and active participation of Subholding Gas in preserving nature," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, December 22.
Meanwhile, PGN's General Manager of Sales and Operation Regional I (SOR I) North Sumatra Afdal said PGN and its affiliates are committed to providing and supporting the industrial, commercial and tourism sectors in Batam City to be able to enjoy natural gas safely and comfortably.
"Services and natural gas flows in Batam City, which are on standby 24 hours, hopefully can help smooth commercial activities within the Panbil Nature Reserve. Considering that Panbil is a natural tourism object, natural gas is the right choice of energy, because natural gas is clean and environmentally friendly energy," said Afdal.
For your information, currently Gaslink customers in Batam are currently around 15 customers engaged in the hotel, laundry and restaurant sectors, with a total gas consumption of 23,044 m/month or equivalent to 1,267 MMBTU. Gagas also provides natural gas services for transportation in Batam City through Gasku products and has utilized 19,461 M3 or equivalent to 690 MMBTU.
Panbil Nature Reserve is the first integrated ecotourism in Batam with a total land area of about 200 hectares. The plan is that this place will become a tourist area as well as a means of education about nature, environmental conservation, and animal diversity for the people of Batam city and visitors from outside Batam.
