Mahfud MD Asks Satbravo 90 Paskhas To Maintain The Spirit Of Nationalism
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD requested that one of the elite Indonesian Air Force troops, Unit Bravo 90 Paskhas, maintain the spirit of nationalism.
"The Republic of Indonesia is independent by the grace of God Almighty. Defend with the spirit of nationalism and patriotism of the capabilities of our Air Force," said Mahfud during a visit to the Satbravo 90 Paskhas Headquarters, Rumpin, Bogor, West Java, reported by Antara, Wednesday, December 22.
The presence of Mahfud MD in the anti-terror force belonging to the Indonesian Air Force is to see the readiness of the special unit owned by the TNI.
On previous occasions, Mahfud had visited the Special Forces Command (Kopassus) and the Marine Corps Jala Mangkara Detachment (Denjaka).
"I am very proud, besides being a mighty soldier who is respected in the world, Satbravo 90 has also made many brilliant achievements, both in handling domestic insurgency operations, hostage release operations and suppressing extremist movements," said Mahfud.
In addition, Mahfud also gave his appreciation to TNI soldiers who served in the country and abroad.
"Satbravo 90 has the ability to deal with acts of terrorism, from experience and orders from the law. All elite troops owned by the TNI can be properly involved, Satbravo 90 can play an active role in countering terrorism. Terrorism is an extraordinary crime, Mahfud said in a press release.
It is known, Satbravo 90 is part of the Indonesian Air Force Paskhas Corps, which was inaugurated on October 19, 1990, is a special unit capable of playing a role in carrying out unconventional special operations in the air force, in accordance with the development of threats and developments in science and technology.
Satbravo 90 has been involved in many important assignments including; In 1999 he was assigned to control the Comoros Airport in the ITFET (Indonesian Task Force in East Timor) task force and was the last troop to leave Timor Leste. In August 2021, Satbravo 90 carried out the evacuation of Indonesian citizens and Afghan Embassy staff.
