Koeman Officially Train Barcelona

JAKARTA - Barcelona has appointed Ronald Koeman as the club's new coach for next season. The Catalan side are determined to bounce back from devastation after being loaded by Bayern Munich 8-2 in the Chmapions League quarter-finals last week.

As quoted from Antara, Wednesday, August 19, Koeman, who has left his role as Dutch manager, signed a two-year contract with Barcelona.

Los Blaugrana sacked Quique Setien on Monday after he led the club but suffered the worst defeat in European competition.

Koeman, who will be formally featured at the Camp Nou stadium this Wednesday, is much loved at Barca for his role in the success of Johan Cruyff's team known as the 'Dream Team' and for scoring the goal that led to the club's first European Cup in 1992.

The defender then became assistant coach before starting a career as head coach, managing Dutch sides Ajax Amsterdam, PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord plus Premier League teams Southampton and Everton and La Liga side Valencia.

"Barcelona and Ronald Koeman have reached an agreement to coach the team until 30 June 2022," said a Barca statement.

"A club legend and Barca hero at Wembley who gave fans their first European Cup, Koeman is back at Camp Nou. But this time he will be on the sidelines to lead the team."

Koeman will be presented by Barcelona today at 16.55 local time.
