JAKARTA - The government asks governors, regents and mayors throughout Indonesia to take steps to prevent and deal with the potential spread of COVID-19, the Omicron variant.

To take steps to prevent and control the Omicron Variant, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian in his SE conveyed that governors, regents and mayors throughout Indonesia intensify the implementation of restrictions on micro community activities (PPKM) by optimizing the functions of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force in their respective areas. -each environment.
Both at the provincial, district/city, sub-district, kelurahan, and village levels, as well as the Neighborhood Units (RT) and the Citizens Association (RW), by carrying out the functions of prevention, handling, coaching, and support for the implementation of handling COVID-19.
"Intensify testing and tracing of COVID-19 close contacts to find COVID-19 cases and prevent faster transmission within the community," said Minister of Home Affairs Tito as stated in the SE quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 22.
Minister of Home Affairs Tito emphasized that ventilation, air, duration, and interaction factors should be considered to reduce the risk of transmission of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
"Implement stricter health protocols with the 5M approach, namely wearing masks, washing hands with soap or hand sanitizer, maintaining distance, reducing mobility, and avoiding crowds, and 3T, namely testing, tracing, treatment, and considering ventilation, air, and water factors. duration, and interaction distance to reduce the risk of transmission of the Omicron variant of COVID-19," said Tito.
Then, Tito also asked governors, regents and mayors throughout Indonesia to coordinate with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) and other stakeholders.
