Airlangga: TNI-Police Have An Extraordinary Role In Combating COVID-19
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, met 31 Tier III cadets of Akmil Sergeant Major Two Taruna (Sermadatar) at his office in Jakarta, Tuesday, December 21.
During the meeting, Airlangga reiterated the important role of the TNI (Army) and National Police in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.
According to the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Indonesia's success in dealing with the pandemic cannot be separated from the role and cooperation of various parties, especially the TNI (Army).
"The TNI's crucial role in dealing with the pandemic shows professionalism, discipline, and determination in carrying out every assignment", said Airlangga while providing a briefing to Military Academy cadets, Wednesday, December 22.
The General Chairperson of the Golkar Party DPP added that the support and collaborative role of the TNI and National Police are needed and expected by the community. Among other things, in the support of medical personnel, provision of health facilities, implementation of vaccinations, security of health protocol discipline, to security of borders and public facilities. In addition, the cooperation between the TNI and National Police is also realized by assisting health workers in the community.
"These future TNI leaders certainly understand the need to guard together and solidly on various nation-state agendas as well as national challenges, not only at the domestic level but also at the global level", said Airlangga.

The chairman of the Committee for the Handling of COVID-19 and the National Economic Recovery (KPCPEN) also asked that the Taruna Akmil could play a role in reminding the public of the emergence of the Omicron variant in Indonesia.
Airlangga emphasized that discipline is still needed in implementing health protocols so that this new wave of COVID-19 cases does not spread in Indonesia.
