Singapore Is Wary Of Elkan Baggott's Movement When It Meets Indonesia

JAKARTA - Singapore will face Indonesia in the 2020 AFF Cup semifinals. This meeting will take place at the National Stadium, Singapore on Wednesday, December 22 at 19.30 WIB.

Ahead of this match, Singapore is wary of one of the national team players. Coach Tatsuma Yoshida admits that the Garuda squad's defense will be stronger with the presence of Elkan Baggott.

Therefore, during the match, he emphasized that his players should be aware of Baggott's movements.

"Their defense (the Indonesian national team) is quite solid, especially with Elkan Baggot towering in the midst of them and we have to be vigilant," Yoshida said as quoted from the official AFF website on Wednesday.

Yoshida also admitted that he was ready to face the terror of dead balls which became one of Indonesia's powerful weapons to score goals in the AFF Cup.

"Dead balls are very influential in the game. We are also very good at this. The opponent also has the same thing. We will prepare well in set pieces and anticipate it (from Indonesia)," said Yoshida.

So far, Indonesia and Singapore have both scored four goals from using set pieces.

Regarding how the game will take place, Yoshida already has a good plan to face the national team. In addition to pocketing such tactics, he also hopes for support from the fans to burn the players' fighting spirit on the field.

"But, we have a special plan against Indonesia. So I hope the Singaporean fans come and support us," said the coach.
