Attacking Residents And Motorcycle Convoy Carrying Sharp Weapons, 10 Members Of The Motorcycle Gang Arrested By Sukabumi Police
JAKARTA - The Sukabumi Police Criminal and Investigation Unit, West Java, arrested 10 members of a motorcycle gang who often troubled residents of Sukabumi City/Regency for carrying out anarchic actions and persecuting residents using sharp weapons.
"These ten suspects come from five disclosures of street crime cases carried out by a number of motorcycle gang members from November to December 2021," said Sukabumi Police Chief Zainal Abidin in Sukabumi, quoted Wednesday, December 22.
According to Zainal, of the five cases, two of them involved the illegal use of sharp weapons during a convoy with his gang, while the other three cases involved attacks and abuses against residents with a revenge motive.
Street crimes by motorcycle gang members were carried out at five crime scenes (TKP), namely two crime scenes each in Citamiang and Gunungpuyuh sub-districts, Sukabumi city, and one crime scene in Sukabumi district/district.
"This motorcycle gang is very troubling, so we do not hesitate to take firm action, especially since these suspects carried out random attacks targeting residents who were hanging out," he added.
Zainal said that the motorcycle gangs did not hesitate to injure their victims by slashing sharp weapons and many have become victims of the stabbing by the suspect.
From the suspect's hands, the police confiscated a number of sharp weapons, such as swords, sickles, machetes, and a motorcycle used by members of a motorcycle gang to carry out their actions.
As a result of his actions, he said, as many as 10 young suspects were threatened with a maximum sentence of nine years in prison in accordance with the article ensnared by the Sukabumi City Police, namely Article 170 Paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code regarding Beating That Causes Injury.
