Public Places In Semarang Closed On New Year's Eve, Entertainment Places Open Until 24.00 WIB
SEMARANG - The Semarang City Government closed public places on New Year's Eve from 2021 to 2022 as an effort to prevent crowds during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Public places, such as squares, parks, and other public spaces will be closed from December 31, 2021 to January 1, 2022," said Semarang Mayor Hendrar Prihadi as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, December 21.
This is regulated in the Semarang Mayor's Instruction on Prevention and Control of Corona Virus Diseases (COVID-19) at Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022.
Hendi, as Hendrar Prihadi is known, also asked the public not to travel out of town or return to their hometown.
"If there is an urgent need, then it must be filtered through the Pedulilindungi application," he said.
Another thing regulated in the mayor's instruction relates to the operating hours of malls and shopping centers a maximum of 22.00 WIB with a maximum number of visitors of 75 percent.
In addition, places of entertainment and places to eat are still allowed to open until 24.00 WIB.
As for the implementation of the Christmas service, according to Hendi, it is allowed to be carried out with a congregation of 75 percent of the church's capacity.
The mayor's instruction itself is effective from December 24, 2021 to January 2, 2022.
The mayor hopes that with this arrangement the number of COVID-19 cases in the Central Java capital will not spike again.
